The GOP-controlled House Oversight Committee is expected to hold a public hearing on President Joe Biden’s family’s business dealings next Thursday, September 28, the first since the House launched its impeachment inquiry, sources told ABC News.

“We will have three credible witnesses,” Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., told ABC News. “We want to be able to explain exactly what an accountability investigation is and what its purpose is.”

Other witnesses will be experts in financial law and foreign customer registration – to speak about the alleged “evidence” Republicans believe they have collected about the Biden family’s business dealings.

Coomer also said Republicans will request the banking records of Hunter Biden and James Biden — the president’s son and brother — as soon as this week.

“Once it’s all dotted “The paperwork for the impeachment investigation has been crossed, and then you’ll see the subpoenas going out the door,” he said.

Asked why the committees have not yet subpoenaed the president’s records, Comer said it is because investigators have not uncovered evidence that he received any of the money examined.

“We will trace the money… Whether it was China, Romania, Ukraine, Russia or Uzbekistan, it went from there through a shell company – or two or three – and then was distributed to nine different members of the Biden family,” he added. He said.

“At this point, he was not one of the Biden family nine.”

The White House insists that the president did nothing wrong, and that there is no evidence to suggest otherwise after the investigation into any relationship between him and Hunter Biden’s business dealings.
