Tuesday, February 20 is the deadline to register to vote in Ohio before the March 19 primary. Early voting begins Wednesday, February 21.

Voters will decide the fate of the presidential race as well as races for the U.S. Senate, Congress, the Ohio House of Representatives, the Ohio Senate, the Ohio Supreme Court, district races and local issues.

How to vote early by mail in Ohio

Boards of elections must receive absentee ballot requests by 8:30 pm on March 12.

Absentee ballots must be received by election boards by 7:30 pm on Election Day, Tuesday, March 19. Ballots cannot be dropped off at polling places on Election Day but can be returned to county board offices in person on Election Day.

Absentee ballots returned by mail must be postmarked by March 18 and received by March 23 in order to be counted.

How to vote early in person in Ohio

Absentee ballots can be cast in person at local elections offices or a designated county early voting center beginning February 21.

All locations have the same hours: February. 21-23: 8 AM – 5 PM February 26 – 1 March: 8 AM – 5 PM March 4 – 8: 8 AM – 5 PM March 9: 8 AM – 4 PM March 11: 7:30 AM – 7:30 PM March 12: 7:30 AM – 8:30 PM March 13 – 15: 7:30 AM – 7:30 PM March 16: 8 AM – 4 PM March 17: 1 PM – 5 PM
