The victim died three days after the shooting near apartments in Kansas City
A victim who was in critical condition after a shooting this week died from her injuries, Kansas City police said, prompting a homicide investigation.
Just before 11 a.m. on Jan. 31, officers responded to the 100 block of West 99th Terrace, near Willow Creek Apartments, in Kansas City, after a shooting was reported. Officers found a victim who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound in the parking garage of the apartment complex.
Emergency medical services transported the injured person to the hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition.
On February 3, police were notified that the victim had died of his injuries. According to police, homicide detectives have taken over the investigation.
As of Saturday, police said no one was in custody and there was no information on suspects.
