One dead after a fire in Littleton, New Hampshire
New Hampshire fire officials are investigating after a deadly fire in Littleton on Saturday morning.
First responders received a call at approximately 9:39 a.m. about smoke at an apartment building located at 12 Hilltop Manner Extension, the New Hampshire State Fire Marshal said in a statement.
Littleton Police officers responded to find one person dead and engulfed in flames.
“State Fire Marshal Tommy would like to remind everyone of the importance of having working smoke alarms in their homes. “If the alarm is activated or smoke or fire appears, residents should exit their homes immediately and call 9-1-1,” said State Fire Marshal Tommy. “Keep exits clear and accessible at all times, and have a fire escape plan for the home.”
The investigation into the origin and cause of the fire is active and ongoing.
