Dartmouth police arrest New Bedford man in connection with a 2022 stabbing
Dartmouth police have arrested a New Bedford man in connection with a 2022 stabbing.
Ryan Feenstra, 41, of New Bedford, was arrested Jan. 24 around 7:30 a.m. on an arrest warrant related to an October 2022 stabbing in Dartmouth.
According to police, Veenstra had four other outstanding warrants for his arrest on charges including aggravated rape, indecent assault and battery on a child under the age of 14, threatening to commit a crime, and operating under the influence of alcohol.
The investigation into the stabbing was reopened after investigators received new information about Feenstra’s alleged involvement, police said.
“Not only did this arrest remove a dangerous person from the streets, but it also reinforced the dedication that members of this department maintain when it comes to pursuing cases that would otherwise go unsolved,” Dartmouth Police Chief Brian Levesque said.
