A Paso Robles woman was arrested after she threatened a man with a knife and tried to slash tires
Paso Robles police arrested a woman who threatened at least one person with a knife and tried to slash a car’s tires Thursday night.
Police were dispatched at 6:13 p.m. to the Blue Oak Apartment Complex at 710 Experimental Station Road after a report that Rachel Branes, 32, of Paso Robles, was threatening residents with a knife, according to Officer Jeremy Petlacci.
Once there, police contacted a man who Branis allegedly hit with her knife and tried to slash his tires, according to Pitlacci.
Pitlacci said Branes fled to her residence in the complex before police arrived and then refused to leave.
Police then negotiated with Branes to leave her home, and she was eventually taken into custody at 7:18 p.m., Petlacci said.
Branes also caused “extensive damage to a vehicle in the complex,” Pitlacci said.
Branes was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon and felony vandalism charges, according to Pitlacci.
As of Friday at 11:45 a.m., she remained in custody, with bail set at $25,000, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office. Who is in custody? page.
