Irving police are searching for a suspect wanted in the double murder of a mother and daughter


Authorities in North Texas are searching for a wanted suspect Friday night Double murder of a mother and daughterThe Irving Police Department said in a news release Tuesday.

At approximately 8:50 p.m. Friday, Irving Police responded to a call about a shooting in the 2000 block of West Irving Street.

Callers told police that two victims were injured in the shooting.

The police announced that one of the victims, 55-year-old Juana Medina Rodriguez, died at the scene. The second victim, Medina Rodriguez’s 23-year-old daughter, Nayeli Bolanos Medina, was taken to a local hospital where she died of her injuries.

Police identified the suspect as Hector Matute, 33, also known as Hector Paguada. He is wanted for premeditated murder.

Police say Matute and the victims knew each other, but the motive for the shooting is unknown.

Irving Police are asking anyone with information about Matute and his whereabouts to contact their local police department. Police are also asking the public not to attempt to contact or arrest the suspect.
