N.C. cops say a missing 10-year-old boy was found stabbed to death in the yard. The sister is accused


A North Carolina woman is accused of stabbing her 10-year-old brother to death and then leaving him in the backyard, the sheriff’s office said.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. on January 16, an Enfield mother contacted law enforcement Her 10-year-old child was reported missingaccording to a Jan. 17 news release from the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.

By the time officers arrived at her home, the mother had found her baby, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies said the 10-year-old died in the backyard.

The child, who deputies did not identify in the release, was stabbed multiple times, the sheriff’s office said.

“The victim is believed to have been stabbed inside the home and moved outside to the back of the home,” the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies said they believe it was 22-year-old Kaneja Zaire Bradley, the 10-year-old’s older sister, who stabbed the child, according to the release.

She was charged with murder and taken into custody, deputies said.

“The motive for the incident is unclear at this time and remains under investigation,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

No further information was immediately available.

“This is a sad incident,” Sheriff Terry Davis said in the statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.”

Enfield is located about 75 miles northeast of Raleigh.
