Croatia announces an outbreak of bird flu at a poultry farm
PARIS (Reuters) – Croatia has reported an outbreak of the highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza virus at a poultry farm, the World Organization for Animal Health said on Tuesday.
The Paris-based WOAH organization said in a report, citing Croatian authorities, that the outbreak infected five poultry out of a flock of 19,600 birds on a farm in Brodsko-Posavska district near the Bosnian border.
Highly contagious avian influenza, known as avian influenza, has spread around the world in recent years, killing hundreds of millions of poultry.
