A boy was injured in a shooting in the Belmont Central neighborhood, police said

A 16-year-old boy was injured in a drive-by shooting Saturday morning in the Belmont Central neighborhood, Chicago police said.

The boy was walking around 6:30 a.m. in the 6300 block of West Belmont Street when three people approached in a dark-colored car. Police said that one of them fired at the boy, hitting him in the leg.

The victim was transported to First Community Hospital where he was listed in good condition.

No one was in custody, and detectives were investigating.
