A suspected murder-suicide in Daytona Beach left a man and a woman dead
A man and a woman are killed after a suspect Murder and suicide Friday at an apartment in Daytona Beach, police said.
The two were found inside an apartment at 1400 Hancock Avenue. After police were called at 9:10 p.m. by people who heard gunshots.
The police did not reveal their identities. The address corresponds to Lakeside Gardens Apartments near Hancock Road and South Clyde Morris Street.
Several witnesses said the man and woman were in a verbal altercation outside the apartment. Witnesses told police that the argument appeared to escalate once the two entered the apartment.
Then witnesses reported that they heard several gunshots, followed by silence.
Police arrived around 9:12 p.m. and found the man and woman dead inside.
Police said the investigation is continuing.
“At this time, there is no reason to believe there are any suspects awaiting investigation and there is no risk to the safety of the public,” police said.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those involved in this tragic incident,” police said.
