Madisonville student accused of preparing ‘hit list’

Madisonville, Louisiana (WGNO) – A 14-year-old Madisonville student was arrested on Tuesday, November 7 after an alleged “hit list” was discovered.

Deputies received the report from a Madisonville-area middle school on Monday after a student told school staff that another student had made a “hit list,” officials with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office said.

On Tuesday, STPSO issued a subpoena on the menacing charge and released the student, a 14-year-old boy, to a parent under an agreement to appear in court.

“We will continue to work with our schools to investigate any and all threats to our schools and the students who attend them, and enforcement action will be taken where necessary,” St. Tammany Parish Mayor Randy Smith said.
