One person was killed and five others were injured in a shooting in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Friday evening, authorities said.
In a news conference late Friday night, Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Thietje said the incident occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. local time on a street in the city’s West End neighborhood, located near downtown.
Officers arrived to find one person dead at the scene, Thetje said. Five others were transported to local hospitals. Their circumstances have not been confirmed.
Thitji revealed that some of the victims were juveniles. The deceased victim was not immediately identified.
The police chief said: “This is absolutely unacceptable in our city. It is unacceptable that on Friday night, six people were shot in one incident.”
She added that the circumstances that led to the shooting were unclear. There were no reports of any arrests.
Thietje said there was “no indication” of an ongoing threat to the public.
