Federal police arrest two men accused of killing another man
Federal police have arrested two men accused of killing another man.
Federal Way Police Department saidthat on October 25, officers went to a shooting in the parking lot of the O’Reilly Auto Parts store located at 32411 Pacific Highway South.
When they got there, they found a 26-year-old man who had been shot. Officers and paramedics tried to save his life, but he did not survive.
Surveillance video showed two people approached the man in the parking lot and tried to steal his car at gunpoint. Police said the man was armed with a legally concealed firearm and exchanged gunfire with people who fled the scene in a stolen vehicle.
Before that, Federal Highway investigators were teaming up with investigators from other jurisdictions to try to find armed carjacking suspects. This investigation led two people to become interested in a federal-style murder.
On October 26, 2023, Valley SWAT served a search warrant on a home in Kent and arrested both men for their alleged roles in the recent carjackings. As the men who had stolen the cars were in custody on Kent charges, Federal Way detectives continued their investigation into the murders. They developed probable cause for federal murder.
Federal Way investigators will turn the case over to the King County Prosecutor’s Office and will recommend murder charges against the men.
The men accused of killing the man were taken into custody within 24 hours of the shooting.
