Sheriff’s deputies say a woman was found shot to death at a motel near Columbia
A woman was killed after being shot at a Richland County motel on Wednesday.
Richland County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the hotel around 11 a.m. and found a woman with a gunshot wound to the upper body, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release. The ministry said the death is being investigated as a homicide. The identity of the shooting victim has not been identified.
The shooting happened in the 700 block of Netts Road. The site is located north of Columbia near where Two Notch Road meets Interstate 20. The exact location was not specified in the sheriff’s release, but the building includes a Motel 6 and a Red Roof Inn. Hotel staff contacted sheriff’s deputies and directed them to the woman upon their arrival, the news release said.
