NC cops say Dad got on a parked school bus and cursed at the driver and students
A parent who picks up his child from the school bus stop has been accused of boarding the bus so he can curse at the students, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said in a news release that it happened just before 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, in the Rockwell area, about 40 miles northeast of Charlotte.
Officials said a 29-year-old man was arrested in the case. Investigators did not reveal the motive in the case.
“The bus stopped at 10500 Highway 52 to drop off a student when (a man) entered the bus and began swearing at the children,” the sheriff’s office said.
“The bus driver ordered him to get off the bus, but he refused to comply, and at one point cursed the driver and asked her to shut up. At some point, (the man) took his child who was riding the bus and got off.”
Once he was gone, officials said, the driver continued to drop off the kids, only to see the man driving when the bus stopped at the intersection of Eller Road and Country Place Drive.
“Stop arm fully extended, lights activated, when he approached the bus from a side road, in a dark Jeep Cherokee. “Then he turned, past the bus stopped on the right side, shaking his fist and shouting,” the officials said.
“An off-duty NC State Trooper was behind the parked bus when he (the suspect) passed it on the right side.”
Officials said deputies arrested the father on August 25 and charged him with disorderly conduct and trespassing on a school bus. The bond is set at $25,000. Officials said additional tolls are still pending.
