Lexington County deputies say two people were shot and one man was arrested
Two people were shot The man was arrested Tuesday night, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department said.
First responders said one of the shooting victims was stabilized while the other victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to the sheriff’s department. No additional information was available on their circumstances.
No other injuries were reported.
At approximately 6:15 p.m., deputies responded to a 911 call about gunfire On Gardeners Terrace RoadSheriff’s Department said. This is located in the West Columbia area, near the intersection of US 321 and US 176, as well as the South Carolina Farmers Market.
About 30 minutes later, deputies arrested two men on unrelated charges, according to the sheriff’s department. One of the men has also been arrested in connection with the shooting.
Information about the man’s identity, the charges he faces, and whether he is being held in prison Lexington County Detention Center was not available.
There was no word on a motive for the shooting, but the sheriff’s department said deputies believe it was an “accident.” An isolated incident between people who know each other. Information about how people are defined was not available.
