San Antonio, Texas. — The Kansas City, Kansas, police department identified a victim, arrested and charged a suspect in connection with the murder Thursday.
About 3 a.m. officers It’s called the N. 73rd Terrace and Troup Avenue area regarding a deceased person. When they arrive, they find a dead man inside the apartment.
Man dies in hospital after shooting KCK overnight
The victim has been identified as 51-year-old KCK resident Walter Sawyer.
Investigators tracked the suspect, 50-year-old John Noel, to San Antonio, Texas, where US Marshals took him into custody later that day.
The Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office charged him with second-degree murder and robbery. His bond was set at $300,000.
Noel remains in custody in Texas while he awaits extradition to Wyandotte County.
